One winter a bird was on a piece of wood, floating down the river towards the Niagara Falls. He enjoyed the waters current & thought he could fly out of danger. When he reached the falls, he tried to fly but couldn’t because the river’s mist had frozen his wings & he plunged over the falls to his death. Paul warns, “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” (Heb.2:1) There is a subtle & deceitful power to the world’s seductive current. When we drift from our charted course of Christlikeness, our spiritual senses become duller & we are lulled into a lifestyle of false security. Stay the course with spiritual alertness & discipline…we won’t drift when we are anchored in Him!
